
HISTORY
Constructed as part of a war strategy in the 16th Century and situated in the Aravalli hills surrounded by 15 kilometers of impregnable forest, the Gogunda Palace was the capital of the erstwhile kingdom of Mewar ruled by one of the greatest Hindu Rajput Kings, Maharana Pratap Singh who overthrew the Mughal Emperor, Akbar, from Mewar and restored its glory.
