Gogunda Palace: Where Rajput History Welcomes You Home
Some places carry their history lightly, and our palace wears it with quiet pride. Built in the 16th century not as a royal residence but as a forest fort—a van durgh—our palace was the refuge of Maharana Udai Singh II, the coronation ground of Maharana Pratap Singh, and the base from which the Battle of Haldighati was planned and fought. The grand Hathi Pol gates, carved jharokas, traditional chattris, and Mewari archways are not restored for effect—they are the original bones of a Palace that has stood through sieges, coronations, and centuries of Rajput history. Sitting in the Aravalli hills between Udaipur and Kumbhalgarh, this heritage hotel near Udaipur offers a version of Rajasthan that very few places can still deliver.
Inside, our rooms and suites—from cosy Heritage Rooms to the palace-within-a-palace grandeur of the Rani Mahal and Raj Tilak Suites—have been lovingly restored and appointed with modern comforts. Our Heritage Quarter serves Rajasthani royal cuisine alongside Asian and continental options, while the Bougainvillaea Bar offers a poolside retreat as the day winds down. 6 event venues across the grounds welcome weddings, celebrations, and gatherings of every kind, and facilities, including a temperature-controlled pool, Brahma Spa, library, and concierge, ensure that nothing is left wanting.

From the Royal Kitchen to the Poolside Court
Somewhere between a slow Rajasthani curry and a sundowner by the pool, you begin to understand why the Rajputs always ate well. The Heritage Quarter brings that tradition to the table—legendary dishes like Laal Maas and Govind Gattey ki Sabzi alongside Asian and continental options, served across an all-day dining space with views of the Palace lawns. As the light fades, the Bougainvillaea Bar takes over—a poolside setting with wines, spirits, cigars, and exotic hors d'oeuvres that make it very easy to lose track of time.
Know MoreEvery Occasion, a Royal Stage
The Rajputs celebrated with intention—every ceremony chosen with care, every setting chosen with purpose. Today, 6 venues within the walls of this boutique hotel in Gogunda carry that same spirit forward. Whether you are planning an intimate gathering in the auspicious Temple Courtyard, a sundowner on the Aravalli Chhatri, or a grand celebration across the Neem Garden, our palace offers a backdrop that no purpose-built event space could replicate—one where the walls themselves have witnessed centuries of celebration, and are ready for yours.
